ATCvet index

The WHO Collaborating Centre for Drug Statistics Methodology publishes a new issue of the complete ATCvet Index annually. The complete ATCvet Index consists of one list sorted according to ATCvet codes, listing all the ATCvet codes established, and one list alphabetically sorted according to nonproprietory drug names, including all ATCvet 5th levels. The Index can be ordered as hard copy or electronic copy from the WHO Collaborating Centre (see order form). The ATCvet Index is also available in searchable format at the website (ATCvet Index, complete).

The ATCvet Index is updated and a new version published once a year. Most of the alterations made to the ATC Index relating to drugs for human use, such as reclassifications and new or deleted codes, are also made in the ATCvet system.

Some drugs are given a different classification in the ATCvet system than in the ATC system (e.g. Antiprotozoals, ATCvet group QP51/ATC group P01, and Sulfonamides, ATCvet group QJ01EQ/ATC group J01EB). However, most ATC codes are included in the ATCvet Index.

Lists of the annual ATCvet alterations are distributed in January each year free of charge to the users of the ATCvet system according to a mailing list on email.
